Aidan had a quiet little birthday get together yesterday. We had a couple of friends of ours over with their kids and my Mom and Step Dad. It was alot of fun watching Aidan discover the goodness of cake and how much fun it is to play in it before you eat it. He had it all over his face, and in his hair. Down the front of him and all over the floor. He was wired from sugar for over half an hour then he crashed and was put to bed. He received some great gifts from friends and had lots of fun playing with all the other kids. In all his first birthday was a happy success for him and for us. 

My son is reaching his first year of life on this planet. I am so proud of him and daily awed by his progress. He is so darn smart, and by my opinion the best looking baby I have ever seen. Jen and i have been so blessed to have a baby as perfect as him. I even think his tantrums are cute. He is such the big old flirt and has charmed every female he comes across. I look forward to seeing what this next year holds for him, and how he will grow, What he will discover, and what surprises he will have in store for us. 

It has snowed up here for about three days now non stop. It has constantly been wet and miserable, and totally cool.
I love it when it snows. I love watching it come down and settle on the world. I love to stand out in it and feel it melt on my skin. I wish it would snow more often sometimes. Especially when I lived in California. I would loved for it to snow there and freak out all the Cali people.
This is Aidan's first snow of his life. He was so cute looking at the white world out there and trying to figure out what happened. But wasn't quite so happy about the cold.
                                                                                

Its almost the holidays, and I finally get a break from the insane schedual at work. Overtime up the wazzu. I have gone from working 28 days in a row to working normal days and normal hours. I still pick up OT on Saterdays, but not quite so much now. Im glad because people have told me I look like the walking dead. The dark circles under my eyes became so bad that one of the guys at work asked me if I had been punched in both eyes. I'm glad I can finally get some rest. 

So at long last I have closed my second week at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. I started my employment on the 1st as a helper for shop 71, the Painters and Blasters. I have so far been able to tour the ship yard and drydocks, my shop building, and classrooms as soon as my first week was over. Hell week. I have been down to help set up for upcoming work on a vessel in drydock and was just astounded by the sheer size of the damn ship. Even more so when I was literally standing underneath said vessel held eight feet off the ground by its supports. I have also run into quite a few old friends from back in school that I never thought I would ever see again. That was a real treat. especially when they all remembered my name.
 My son is thriving and growing. He has taken first steps and climbed huge obstacles. Namely the barrier I erected in front of the TV. Jennifer is doing so well out here in the clean Washington air. Our lives are just charmed and everything is going smashingly for us.

We had a great big scare today. Aidan took a fall face first from the couch today and landed on his poor little head. His crying was soon followed by a long spell of lethargy and loss of consiousness we had difficulty waking him up from. We were so scared that he had hurt his neck, or concussed his head. We had to call 911 and have perimedics come out to examine him. Then we were refered to the medical center where he was examined at length by the doctors. He came out of his lethargy when we got on the road, and by the time we got to the medical center he was once again lucid, cheerful, and active. But quiet for him. 
 In all he was deemed just fine and there was no need for a CAT scan. We took him home and gave him lots of hugs and love.  

So I call a cab this morning to get to work. I was tired and wanted to sleep in and not have to walk to work this morning. I ask them to send a driver by 9:25. The dipatcher takes down my request. Then as 9:30 rolls around, I call and ask where my cab is. The dispatcher says; "Oh we put you down for 9:35 and we just sent him out. He should be there in ten minutes" I oh so patiently remind him my request was for 9:25, NOT 9:45.  Then the cab doesnt get there until nearly 9:50. I'm glad I am the one opening the store and my boss isnt there to know that I was nearly late. Damn cab company!  Dont use Best Damn Cab Company!

 I thought I would give this another chance as I seem to have alot to talk about these days.
Life as a father is getting more interesting by the day. My little man makes every day a new adventure. My wonderful wife keeps my life warm and eventful as well. I have such great days and experiences as well as bad ones as well. I may as well put them down in print. 
 
So to all my friends who I have not added yet, I am sorry and I will try to adress that issue as soon as I can. Or you can save me the trouble of looking for you and add me as well. 
Hopefully my wonderful wife, who is more computer savvy than I am, will help me to customize my page a bit. Soon.
